A double-pane window is two sheets of glass sealed together as one insulated glass unit. When one pane cracks or breaks, the whole unit is replaced, but the window frame usually is not. Prestine Glass Solutions replaces broken and cracked double-pane units in homes and commercial buildings across Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland.
If your glass is not broken but has gone cloudy between the panes, the seal has failed. That is covered on our foggy window and IGU replacement page.
Impact damage, stress cracks and broken outer or inner panes.
Moisture between the panes means the seal has failed and the unit needs replacing.
Sliding door and picture window units, which are heavier and larger.
In most windows the insulated unit sits in the sash or frame held by stops or glazing beads. We remove them, take out the damaged unit, and fit a new one made to the measured size, with the right glass type: tempered where safety glass is required, and low-E where the original had it. That keeps the window you have and avoids a full window replacement when the frame is still sound.

Send photos of the window and the damaged pane, and the rough size. We measure on site, order the unit and come back to install it. If the pane is broken and the opening is not secure in the meantime, ask about a temporary fix. More on 24/7 emergency glass repair.
