Storefront Door Installation for Retail and Commercial Properties

Aluminum and Glass Doors for New and Existing Openings

A storefront door is the first thing a customer touches. It should swing easily, close on its own, lock every night and look like it belongs on the building. Prestine Glass Solutions installs aluminum and glass storefront doors for shops, restaurants, offices and multi-tenant buildings across Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland.

This page is about new installs: a new tenant fit-out, a changed entrance or an opening that never had the right door. If your current door has simply worn out, see commercial door replacement or storefront door repair. To talk through your opening, call 571-621-0898 or send us photos.

What We Install

Doors With Sidelites and Framing

Doors installed as part of a larger run of storefront glass and aluminum framing.

Hardware Fitted With the Door

Closers, pivots or hinges, handles and locks set up for how busy the entrance is.

What We Check Before Quoting

An install goes well when the opening is understood first. We measure the width and height at more than one point, because older buildings are rarely square. We look at what the door will hang from, which way it should swing, how it meets the threshold and how many people will use it in a day. A coffee shop door and a quiet office door need different hardware even when they are the same size.

We also ask who else is involved. If there is a landlord, a general contractor or a building manager, it helps to know their requirements early, including any accessibility or design rules for the entrance. Those can affect the door width, the threshold and the closer.

How a Storefront Door Install Works

Send the address and photos of the opening from inside and outside, plus dimensions if you have them. We visit, measure and confirm the door type and hardware with you. You then get a written scope that says what is included.

Doors and glass are made to the measured size, so there is a lead time before install day. On site we set the frame or fit the door to the existing one, adjust the closer and test the swing and the lock before we leave. If you are planning several openings, see our commercial glass contractor page.
